As we enter the last weeks of the year and my wedding season comes to a close, I am reflecting on the amazing wedding days that I had the privillege to be part of this year. For fun, today I wanted to share the "most populars" of my 2024 season!
Color palettes
In 2024, I can honestly say I saw a little bit of everything! There was no one color that I was repeatedly seeing; instead, I saw many bridal parties in coordinating but different colors/styles/patterns/fabrics with more classic florals. Absolutely LOVED this trend!
Bridal Hair Styles/Makeup
Again here, I saw such a variety throughout the season but the most popular would have to be "Hollywood waves" (big in 2023 as well!), followed by a sleek bun. I absolutely love seeing how each bride carefully curates their look for the day and how each one is uniquely THEM! While I still saw a lot of traditional full glam looks, I noticed in 2024 that more and more, brides were opting for a more natural or "no makeup" makeup vibe.
Floral Design
The most popular floral designs and personal arrangements that I saw this year were white/greenery combinations! I am biased to the classic elegance and timelessness of this trend, but also absolutely loved the designs that embraced their season as well! I am a total sucker for spring flowers- tulips, peonies, lilacs, etc. as well as a good fall-toned dynamic arrangement!
Cakes & Desserts
For the first time this season, I had multiple couples who forewent cake cutting all together! Small bites or a variety of desserts served on a sweets table was by far the most popular trend I saw in desserts this year. Some couples used their cake cutting as an opportunity to incorporate something personal to them - I had a couple who made their cake together the day before at home, a couple who's first date was at Portillo's so they cut a chocolate Portillo's cake, and many who opted for a simple white frosted cake just for cutting/to take home while guests enjoyed sheet cake slices or mixed dessert varieties.
Music
Something I saw more of this season was live music - ceremony/cocktail hour musicians or bands, and reception/dance floor bands! Some couples opted for one portion or the other and some had live music throughout the entire event. This is SUCH a fun way to elevate your guests' experience! A highlight of my entire wedding season was at my last wedding when the groom was in a band with his brothers (best men) and dad, and they opened up the dancefloor playing two songs all together before their hired band then took over. Truly SO memorable and a moment that I, and I'm sure their guests, will never forget! Song-wise, "This Will Be" was by and large the most popular recessional song that I saw - for good reason, you can never go wrong with such a classic! Wedding party and bridal processional songs were generally instrumentals of favorite songs of the couple. Some used this portion of the day to honor and incorporate their favorite artists or genres - from Taylor Swift to Disney to early 2000's classics! The most popular song I saw used for bridal processionals was "Yellow" by Coldplay (instrumental), and for family/wedding party processionals, "Here Comes the Sun" by the Beatles (instrumental).
Tablescapes/centerpieces
I saw a lot of variety here in 2024 as well, however by and large the most popular that I saw was bud vases! I am a huge advocate of this one - an elegant aesthetic with very straightforward setup, not to mention these can be very cost effective!
Stationary
In 2024, I noticed many couples were going back to the basics! Very classic and elegant font, more traditional verbiage, etc. We love a good timeless invitation suite!
Date
I am so curious to hear from other vendors on this one! I noticed that September 7th was the most popular date that couples were inquiring about in my experience.
I had so much fun reliving these 2024 wedding season trends that I noted in my experience, and am SO looking forward to all that the 2025 season will bring! I am curious to see the ways in which weddings will look and feel similar to this year's and the ways in which they will continue to evolve!
